AC Milan line-up replacement for unconvincing Ballo-Toure
AC Milan are not pleased with the performances of Fode Ballo-Toure and are already looking at his successor.
In the last season AC Milan failed to find a proper back-up for Theo Hernandez. The French left-back played every time he was fit otherwise coach Stefano Pioli was forced to adapt Davide Calabria in that position.
During the summer AC Milan signed Fode Ballo-Toure to replace Hernandez. Ballo-Toure had played for PSG, Lille and Monaco in Ligue 1 making the Rossoneri believe he was ready for the next step. A quick and powerful defender that was supposed offer Pioli more solutions.
Nevertheless, Ballo-Toure has failed to respect expectations so far. The 25-year-old Senegalese international has made 11 appearances without leaving a positive impression. Tuttosport (via MilanNews.it) reports that AC Milan have already lined up Adrien Truffert as his successor.
The 20-year-old left-back had an impressive debut season with Rennes last year. Again this season Truffert is a regular starter for Rennes making a total of 24 appearances for the French club.
Truffert has a long-term contract with Rennes until 2025. His market value is close to 11 million euros. Ballo-Toure will have time until the end of the season to prove his worth. However, AC Milan have already prepared the plan B.
